Dive sites list in the SharkPoint logbook
Your sites in one list — on the same globe as your dives.

What the dive sites catalog is

SharkPoint keeps dive places with your private log on a 3D globe. Your own sites plus a large catalog of thousands of dive locations. Add places you dive; the catalog helps you start. We describe the catalog as thousands of dive locations — a large, growing set.

A growing open catalog seed may also help fill gaps over time. Attribution for open seeds belongs in product or FAQ body when relevant. Together with places you save, you get a useful starter map without inventing coverage you do not have.

What it is not

The sites catalog is not a deco planner, gas blender or tissue model. It is not a PADI or SSI official site list. It is not a booking tool for resorts or liveaboards. It does not claim every reef on the planet. SharkPoint remains a globe-first private logbook: places support logging, Horizon planning and trip stories — they do not replace training materials or a dedicated planner.

Your own sites vs the catalog

Your sites are places you create and keep with your account — the reef, pier or quarry you return to. The catalog seed is a shared starter set you can pick from so naming and locating a spot is faster. You are never locked to catalog-only entries: add what you dive; use the catalog where it helps.

How sites show on the globe

Logged dives, sites you use, Horizon plans and trip places live in one private 3D globe view. Pins belong to your dive life — not a public social map of strangers. When you plan ahead with Horizon, planned sites sit next to places you have already logged. When the journey is underway, Trips keep the travel story with those places in one dossier.

  1. Start from the catalog seed or add a site yourself.
  2. Log dives against that place so the globe fills with your history.
  3. Mark Horizon sites before you fly (Free: 1 site; Point: full).
  4. Carry places into a private trip story when you travel.
